I'm a web site developer/web apps programmer/father of 2.
I made my first web page in 1994 while at college. It was just a paragraph and an unordered list, nothing exciting. I got my first job doing web work at the college when it began its web initiative. Myself and a team of 5 other students threw together a collection of pages that was extensive, yet primitive. This was at the beginning of the web on campus. I later stayed on as a student employee for the summer. In 1998 I got a job doing it for a small NJ firm that was just getting into the market. After 4 years there I was laid off when the work dried up. Ended up writiing web applications in PHP for a Web cam solutions company in NJ. After being overworked and grossly underpaid for 2½ years I decided to get out of there. I now work for a very well-known company in Westchester County, NY. I'm now focused more on Javascript and HTML than on backend programming.
I enjoy all aspects of Web Site Development. I've had the opportunity to expand my skills in Flash, Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Javascript as well as backend programming in PHP, Perl, MySQL, bash, Apache, Linux. Currently at work I'm working in several environments including Vignette and Eclipse. I'm learning a bit about JSP as well. It's fun learning something new. (I am such a geek).
I'm also a big SciFi fan. I love Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, Firefly, and the original Battlestar Galactica. (don't get me started on the new one.)
I'm a hockey fan as well. I dont like sports in general, but I love Hockey.
I'm in my early 30's, we'll just leave it at that.

why not? everyone else has a web site, even those that know jack shit about how to do it. I figured, I got things to say too. People may or may not read it, but I dont care.
No WYSIWYGs here. Frontpage is for morons. Dreamweaver's better but still takes control out of the hands of the developer. I type all my code out. Some good editors include Homesite, jEdit (excellent free editor), PHP Designer 2005.
My browser of choice is Firefox. IE has bad implementations of web standards and overall is a crappy browser. thunderbird is an excellent mail client. I use it for multiple email accounts, newsgroup access, and RSS reader. chatzilla is a good IRC client and is an extension to Firefox. I use trillian to stay connected to all of my IM accounts on ICQ, AIM, and Yahoo.
I use linux and apache for my server.
